Open peer reviewed case studies in science andtechnology journals

    ABSTRACT：This paper provides reference for the implementation of open peer review (OPR) in Chinese scientific journals, so as to promote the openness of Chinese scientific journals in peer review and further conform to the spirit of scientific openness. The OPR process of PLoS One, Atmospheric Chemistry and Physics, F1000Research, the Semantic Web Journal, and Acta Psychologica Sinica was investigated. The five journals show many of the same OPR characteristics, but none of them implement OPR in the same way, which reflects the diversity of OPR practice process. Based on the actual situation, Chinese scientific journals should combine the advantages of open access and OPR with the advantages of traditional peer review flexibly and effectively, and optimize the implementation process of OPR.
