Established in 2008 as part of the School of Computer and Information Engineering, the College of Software began operating independently in June 2019 after gaining full independence in July 2018. In December 2020, the School of Software was recognized as one of the first Specialized Demonstration Software Colleges in Henan Province, receiving prestigious accolades such as the Aike Intelligent Education Innovation Space and being designated as a provincially key-supported industrial software college. 

The college is committed to providing high-quality education and practical training, boasting several provincial-level engineering labs and technical research centers aimed at developing students’ engineering practice and innovation capabilities. It offers three undergraduate majors with eight specializations, catering to a student population of over 7,300. Following a philosophy of “Talent cultivation being oriented towards industry demand, while industry demand towards national science and technology strategy”, the school continuously refines its curriculum and strengthens partnerships with corporations. The establishment of the Modern Industry College of Digital Technology in collaboration with Neusoft Education Technology Group and Henan Talent Group has brought in valuable resources and a collaborative approach to talent cultivation. This partnership has introduced seven training directions encompassing 7 courses, totaling 32 credits over 18 weeks, focusing on an “alternating work-study, task-driven, project-oriented, internship-based” training method. By working closely with businesses, the college is able to train over 2,000 students annually, contributing to the growth of the software industry in Henan and across the country.

Noteworthy achievements include a consistent 94% employment rate for graduates over the past three years and an increased rate of postgraduate admissions. At the same time, we encourage students to actively participate in various academic competitions and has achieved a series of accomplishments in teaching reform and research projects, garnering recognition and support at the provincial level and above. The industry-education integration model has garnered attention and serves as a catalyst for the development of Henan’s software industry. In a mid-term assessment of specialized demonstration software colleges in Henan Province in September 2023, the college achieved an excellent rating, securing the second spot in the rankings.
